About Us

The Mundelein Fire Department provides fire suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention, Public Education, Specialized Response Teams, Emergency Management and other public safety needs to our community. The Mundelein Fire Department’s primary goals are to educate, protect, and serve all the citizens, guests, and commercial properties throughout the Village of Mundelein and to provide high quality effective fire, emergency medical, and technical rescue services.

The MFD operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, to protect life, property, and the environment. There are 2 Battalion Chiefs, 6 Lieutenants & 21 Firefighter/Paramedics that work 24 hours on duty followed by 48 hours off duty.  There is a Chief, a Deputy Fire Chief, a Fire Marshal and an Administrative Assistant that work normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
