Public Education-Fire Drills - Community Outreach

The Mundelein Fire Department conducts public education on an ongoing basis for the general community. Additionally, the MFD offers a variety of public education services to businesses including: emergency preparedness planning, fire extinguisher training, CPR, first-aid training, and automatic defibrillator training.  For more information on scheduling training, please contact the fire station and you will be directed to the firefighter who can best assist you with your needs.

Additionally, CPR, First-Aid, and Automatic Defibrillator training are offered to the general public on an ongoing basis.  To sign-up for a class, please contact the Mundelein Park District at 847-566-0650.  All community education classes are held Fire Station One.

Fire drills are conducted annually for all public, private, and pre-schools usually during Fire Prevention Week. Fire fighters visit area schools to conduct “Truck Talks.” Fire personnel travel to the schools in a fire engine and then the team gives a safety talk and offers students a tour of the fire truck. Fire station tours also are available by contacting the fire station to schedule. Mundelein firefighters also conduct car seat inspections. Our car seat technicians will ensure that your child’s car seat has been properly installed. Finally, if you are monitoring your blood pressure, MFD staff can assist you. Simply stop by the station and one of the paramedics will be happy to take your blood pressure.

Annually, the Mundelein Fire Department is happy to host and attend many community special events. During Mundelein Days, we host our annual Pancake Breakfast, which is held at the munch grounds. We participate in the parade and supervise the fireworks display. Then in September, we host our annual Open House, which features many live demonstrations and activities that are fun for the whole family, including fire truck rides and tours.
